Saving it for Later?

Last night at dinner Jonas kept showing me pieces of lettuce, holding up to his face and then saying, "nose."

"No Jonas, don't put lettuce in your nose!" I would respond.

This morning when I was changing his diaper I saw a bit of green in his nose. "That little monkey!" I thought. I tried to get him to blow it out, but it wouldn't come. I tried to dig it out, but that didn't work either. So, I decided to let it be and hopefully it would work itself out.

Later, while getting him dressed, I spied it again. I had him blow again. I could almost get it. A few more blows still didn't send it out though. Tweezers were necessary. "Hold still, Jonas. Don't even blink!"

This is what I pulled out.

"Are you kidding me!?!" I was expecting a little, tiny, itty, bitty piece of lettuce. No, the kid tried to shove a whole leaf up there. Sick!

Photo Shoot Attempt #1

I tried to get some good pictures we could use for a birth announcement this morning. It didn't go very well. Someday I need a real camera.

Jonas helped me. He got his camera and took pictures. Before each picture he told baby "Mim" to "Mile!"

This is the only sort of decent picture I got

The Spooky Old Tree

Kate likes to "read" this Bernstein Bears book. She has the entire thing memorized.
Yesterday she took the book to pre-school and her teacher let her read it to the class.

Lady's Man

We took the kids to the grand opening diddy of the Red's side of the baseball complex last night. John's boss was there with his 3 yr old daughter. Jonas went to give her a hug and planted a huge wet kiss right on her mouth.

Little MD

Kate has decided she wants to be a Dr. She told me I should be a Dr. too and get a new job. I told her I would have to go to a lot of school for that.

She told me, "I know what to do because I have been watching Dr. shows. I know all about Dr.'s. I don't have to go to Medical school. I can be your teacher." Since she is learning from Dr. Greg House she probably does know a lot. Let's just hope she doesn't pick up his bedside manner.

Sibling Revelry

Kate and Jonas love their new brother. When we were in the hospital they were not allowed to come and see the baby because it is RSV season. Kate was very disappointed. She kept asking me when they were going to "deliver" the baby to the house.

I ended up staying in the hospital for the full 2 days because the first night I was really nauseous. The second day Kate sent me a sucker that she got for me at her pre-school. She wanted me to have it because I was sick and she thought it would make me feel better.

Kate is constantly asking to hold him.

Jonas kisses his forehead all the time, so Benjamin always has kind of a greasy sheen to his hair. He also tries to pet his head. We are not really keen on this because his hands are generally slimy and he doesn't have the capacity to be gentle.

The other night when we were saying prayers and Jonas thought my eyes were closed, he reached over and sneaked a few pets.
