Leaf Rakin'

We have a gigantic maple tree in our back yard and one in the neighbor's yard that drops leaves all over. John is really grateful for the leaf blower his dad gave him.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Here is our Halloween picture. We got all ready to go trick or treating and then Jonas was suddenly starving. By the time we finally got out the door we only had time to go to about 4 houses. It was really quite perfect. Kate got the experience, but we didn't have to deal with all of the candy.

Flower Girl

Kate was the flower girl for my cousin Tazia's wedding. Tazia's nephew Gentry was the ring bearer. They held hands and were the first to walk down the isle. They went all by themselves; they were so brave!

We stayed in Salt Lake for 2 restless nights. This is Kate Saturday evening. I think this is how we all felt.

So We Go to the Park Alot

We got a new playground at Adam's Park. We went on the day it opened. Kate probably would have enjoyed it a little more if there hadn't been a million kids there playing tag. She about got shoved off a few times by crazy running ten year olds.

Hairdresser

I was born with little talent in the area of hairdressing. Which is unfortunate considering my mom is fantastic with hair and my parents own a beauty school.

Every once in a while I see an adorable toddler with their hair all done up and I feel either guilty or inspired, maybe a little of both. So, I attempt to do Kate's hair. The other day I was in such a mood and Kate was holding still because she was intently watching a musical. I was quite proud of myself, and I took a picture because I knew it wouldn't last more than an hour. The second picture is after the hour was up.

Kate also has a new favorite musical. She loves Into the Woods. It drives us nuts. I was sick of the usual Disney movies, Oklahoma, Sound of Music, and Wizard of Oz, so I unfortunately pulled that out for her to watch. It is a stage production with Bernadette Peters. Kate loves it because it has a funny witch. She sings "Into the woods to Grandmother's house" and "It's the last midnight". She also pointed at John the other day and quoted the witch saying, "You too son, Puh!"

No Animals were Harmed in the Making of this Post

Our friend breeds white Miniature Schnauzers. She had 6 puppies recently and invited Kate over to see them. Amazingly Kate was quite gentle with them. We had to keep reminding her to pick them up in the middle and not by their heads though. Even more amazing was that the puppies seemed to like being with her.

The funniest moment of the day was when Kate, following the instructions to pick them up in the middle, kissed one goodbye on the tail end instead of the nose end.

Future SF Giant

This is Kate's new glove. John wouldn't buy the pink one because he wanted Jonas to be able to use it. John's thought process: "Wow! Look at these cute little gloves. I can't wait till Jonas is big enough to play catch. Wait!!! I can get it for Kate!!! I can still buy the cute glove!!"

Of course there are no pictures of Kate with her new glove.

Reading in Bed

Kate likes to read a book before she takes a nap or goes to bed. The other day we found her asleep like this.

Annual Salmon Spawning

Every year we drive up to Porcupine Dam and see the Kokanee Salmon spawning. This year we went with Andree' and Joe. It was kind of rainy and cold, but Kate loved it because she got to test out her new frog galoshes.
