Sleep Peeing

Well, Jonas is almost night potty trained. Last night, while John was still up, Jonas woke up and went to the bathroom. John was impressed that he got up all on his own, but then he heard the hollow sound of pee not hitting the water in the toilet and then the slam of the under-sink cabinet door. After Jonas shuffled back to bed, John got up and looked in the bathroom. Yup, the kid had peed under the sink.

All this begs the question, where else has this kid been peeing in the middle of the night?

Payson, AZ

We took a little day trip to Payson to go fishing.

Jonas did not catch this fish. He pestered the guy fishing next to us, so the guy let him hold the fish he caught

We didn't catch any fish, but we did catch a bunch of rather large crawdads, crayfish, mudbugs, or whatever you want to call them. So much more fun than fishing for fish.

Jonas loved it! He insisted on being the one to pick them up off the ground after we pulled them out of the water and then put them in the cooler. He's crazy, brave, or just doesn't get that those little pincher hurt like hell.

We brought them home and made a yummy Southern Dinner. Boiled Crayfish, Savannah Red Rice and Fried Okra.

The little buggers were surprisingly tasty and the kids loved the whole process, tormenting them in the sink while they awaited their demise, helping dad toss them in the pot, and playing with the claws after they ate the tails. Morbid, but fun.

Happy 1st Ben!

Ben's birthday was last week. I still think of him as a bitty baby.

I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ

Kate sang one of her favorite primary songs for us tonight. Here are a couple of our favorite lines:

"I'll follow Him in vain." and "His truth I will propane!"

(It should be "I'll follow him in FAITH." and "His truth I will PROCLAIM!")

Walkin' Walker

So, sorry this video is sideways. I didn't think about it when I took it and now I am not sure how to flip it.

Yup, folks, he's walking. I think he is walking earlier than either of the other 2. He is going to be a handful as you can see in the following picture.

"Um, Mom, if you haven't noticed, I'm stuck! Put the camera down and get me off of here!"

Ben Jammin' is Jamming.

First Day of Kindy-Garden

Here she is on her first day of real school all decked out in her Yoo-Nee-Form. (Bleck!)

In the car with her friend. Little Miss Independent didn't even need me to take her the first day. Which is probably a good thing because I would have stood outside the door all morning watching and crying.

Here is a LINK to the post about her first day of pre-school. It is amazing how fast she is growing up. (little tear, sniff, sniff)

It is definitely weird getting used to her being gone all day. Jonas is the one who misses her the most I think, though he has taken to tormenting Ben now.

Kate loves school, but she is just like her dad.

First day of school, she was so excited. She got up bright and early. She was cheery.

Second day, "Kate, time to get up and get ready for school." She looks at me with groggy face and then closes her eyes. "Kate!" She drags herself out of bed.

Third day, "Kate, time to get up and get ready for school." This time she didn't even look at me. She just groaned and rolled over. I could barely get her to move at all. I had to throw her in the shower, just to get her awake enough to eat her breakfast.
